Enrollment Status Question in TurboTax

My 19 year old son had his first college semester in the Fall of 2020 as a full time student. His 1098-T form box 8 that reads "check if at least half-time student" is checked. What status should I enter in TurboTax? Full-time or At least half-time?

You enter Full Time.

 

The 1098-T only has the one choice because that is the minimum for the American Opportunity Credit. The IRS simply wants to hear it from the school that the student meets the minimum.

 

TurboTax uses your full time designation for other purposes.
