Does the tuition deduction for a dependent child have any limitations? As in you can only claim it for two years and then it expires??

There are limitations on the maximum credit amount for an education credit. However, there is no two-year limit. The two education credits that you may be eligible to claim are the American Opportunity Credit (can be claimed for four years) and the Lifetime Learning Credit (can be claimed for more than four years).
