Do I need to file a 1098t if my tuition was completely paid for by my employer?

I elected to take a work related class through a university's extension program for my job. My employer has a certain budget to pay for education/trainings. So when I registered for the class, the tuition was completely paid for with their company credit card.

I have received a 1098t from that extension program for that class. Am I allowed to claim that credit?

You are correct, you cannot claim a credit. Because you did not incur any cost for the course (because it was paid by company credit card), there is no educational cost for you to claim.
