Do i enter form 1098t if someone else claims me as an independent

I am filling out 1040ez return for college student son that we claim as an independent on our joint tax return. Turbo tax keeps asking to enter form 1098t on his return. Is this correct? Are there any deductions as a student he can take?

The education credits go with the dependency exemption.

If you are claiming your son as a dependent, you take the education credit.  You put the 1098-T on your tax return.

If he is taking his own dependency exemption, he takes the credit and puts the 1098-T on his tax return.

He will get the standard deduction as a dependent.  There are no other deductions for him to take.
