When going through the dependent wizard, it asks if your child paid for more than half their living expenses. (my child is over 18 and is in college. We as parents aren't paying her living expenses in college, but are during her vacations and summer break when she returns home. She gets a full-ride scholarship. some of that money is used to pay her room and board. However, an answer here says that "(scholarships, grants, 529 funds, gifts from Aunt Mary, etc. do not count for the student providing their own support) " : https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/independent-dependent-status-clarification/00/4681
Q. Did XXXX pay for more than half her living expenses?
A. Simple answer: No. Don't overthink it. As the reference link (long windily) said scholarships don't count in the support calculation.
