Can I report what I have paid out of pocket for my sons Insurance premium?

Yes, you can. Health insurance premiums are tax deductible if paid with post-tax dollars. The deduction includes your/your children/ your souse's medical expenses or an individual who could have been your dependent except for exceeding the $4050 income limit.

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Deductions and Credits
  3. Scroll down to Medical, select Medical Expenses, enter the total amount for all medical insurance premiums that you paid
