Can I file a 1098-T for a college I attend online?

Why is my zipcode invalid on my 1098-T?

You can report the form 1098-T even if the school is online. You may be entitled to an education credit if you attended at least half-time and cannot be claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return. Also, your education expenses must be more than your scholarship income.

You may have to look up the correct zip code online for the address you are entering.

You can claim a tuition credit for an online courses, as long as the school is an "eligible institution".  Schools that are 100% online are not eligible.  The fact that you got a 1098-T means your school is almost certainly eligible.
