If you do not qualify to claim the student loan deduction, you might want to try to remove the Form 1098-E from the program. Here are the steps:
In TurboTax online,
1. Sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off
2. Select Tax Tools, click on the drop down arrow
3. Select Tools
4. Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form
5. Select Delete next to Form 1098-E and Continue with My Return
When you use student loan funds to finance your education, if you are eligible, the IRS allows you to claim qualifying expenses that you pay with those funds towards educational tax credits. If it does not apply to you, you do not claim.
