1098T doesn't list tuition paid by VA. Box 1 is blank. Can I change box 1 by adding the cost of tuition ($5953.72) then have it subtract the VA benefit ($5944.20)?

Box 2 is $9.52 Box 5 is $2750 in scholarships. I have over $2900 in qualified expenses(books, course fees, computer), so I should get a small credit. However, since it looks like my total expenses are only $9.52, Turbo Tax doesn't calculate a credit (unless I don't report the VA remission) How do I accurately report this?

Don't change the figures on your 1098-T, because this form is being sent to the IRS, and your entries must match. You should be able to add the expenses in the section following where you enter your 1098-T.

When you get to the screen Here's Your Education Summary, edit  Other Education Expenses (for all schools) and add your other qualifying expenses. See the screenshot below.
