1098-T for my high school student

My daughter is a high school student in Colorado taking concurrent enrollment classes and we received a 1098-T showing tuition paid in box 1 and scholarships and grants for the same amount in box 5.  We do not have any out of pocket expenses.  Do either I or my daughter need to claim this on our taxes?  My daughter is my dependent and does not earn any money and therefore was not going to file a return.

Since there is no tax consequence you can ignore it.

Q.  Do either I or my daughter need to claim this on our taxes?

A. No.

The 1098-T is only an informational document. The numbers on it are not required to be entered onto your tax return.
