Why is the amount on line 9 of the 1040 "Business Deductions" less than line 2, Part II of Schedule C-EZ?

Form 1040, Line 9 is the amount of the new Qualified Business Income Deduction. This deduction is separate from and in addition to the deductions you claimed on Schedule C-EZ. The following TurboTax FAQ explains this deduction in detail. https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/7019998
