Schedule F is used for farming income. To enter your farm income and expenses in TurboTax Self-Employed, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Business tab > Continue > I'll choose what to work on
  2. On the Let's gather your business info screenscroll down to the Farm Income and Expenses section, click the Start/Update button next to Farm Income and Expenses [not the farm rental].
  3. If you haven't already started adding business information, continue through the screens to enter the needed information.
  4. If you have already started adding information about your farm, you will see the Tell Us About Your Farm or Farm Rental screen.
  5. On the Farm Summary screen.  Click on the Edit box next to the farm name.
  6. You will now be on the Your Farming Income and Expenses screen.
  7. In the Farm Income section, click on the Start/Update box next to the type of income.
  8. Continue through the screens, entering the requested information.
  9. Once you're finished inputting your income, you will be brought back to the Your Farming Income and Expenses screen.  Continue through the other categories (assets, expenses, vehicles, etc.) if needed.
  10. Click Continue when done entering the information on your farm.
  11. On the next screen, Farm Summary, you can:
    • Click on Add Another Farm, if you have another farm to enter;
    • Click on Edit to go back and change any information entered on your farm;
    • Click on Done if you have no other farms.

 10.  Click Done with Business to continue to the Personal section of the return.
