When TurboTax returns are submitted e-file to the IRS, do they see all the writing in the lines or just numbers in the Sch. C business expense section?

When e-filing a Schedule C, the amounts are indeed itemized by category (utilities, travel, supplies, etc) in the transmission to IRS.  Also, for "other expense" category, the description entered is included along with the amount.
