What is a schedule 1?

Schedule 1 is used when you have additional income, such as capital gains, unemployment compensation, prize or award money, gambling winnings. 

And/or, if you have any deductions to claim, such as student loan interest deduction, self-employment tax, educator expenses.

I am getting a Schedule 1 but we have no additional income and adjustments to income....the number are blank on the form....anyone have any idea where I messed up and how I can get rid of schedule 1.

Any chance you are in California?  The CA Middle Class Tax Refund goes on Schedule C 1 line 8z it is now labeled CA payment and the next line it says CA payment - general welfare exclusion So a net 0.
