The MN-specific section will not let me uncheck the "homeowner" box that requires me to fill out M1PR. don't want to do this form now but when I uncheck it comes back.

Tax statements are not available yet (just proposed) and MN has a user friendly portal for this. I don't need this form but Turbotax insists on my completing it. I tried to uncheck the box multiple times and it keeps coming back.

OK ... the MN form is NOT sent with the MN state return in the TT program ... it must be mailed in by you.  So don't fret ... either mail in the form that is presented in the PDF  or  go online and file the form on the MN site yourself.

Cool but maybe you also shouldn’t be forcibly collecting data on this form? The screen says don’t check the box but it’s literally impossible.

Upon further thought ... there is probably a secondary screen where you can uncheck the selection if you just continue thru the interview.  It will also tell you later on to either mail in the form or go online and file it.  They may be making it harder to skip this section since many have in the past and complained about it.

Nope it keeps demanding information no matter what I do. There is an initial checkbox and the screen says don’t check it if you don’t want to do the form. I accidentally checked it and now it’s stuck. I uncheck it and it rechecks itself.

Try closing TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies, and reopen TurboTax.  You should now be able to uncheck the box for Form M1PR (or it may already be unchecked).

Here's more info on Filing Form M1PR.

If you must enter in some random figures to move forward ... it doesn't matter since you will not print or mail what the program fills in.
