Should I file taxes in a state where I earned no income simply bc I used to have an LLC there?

I used to have a CA-based single-member LLC. I moved out of CA during the pandemic and haven't earned income there since 2021. Should I still file 2023 CA taxes?

I had both CA and Federal NOL carryovers from the LLC. If the CA NOLs only apply to CA income, of which I haven't had any since 2021 and don't foresee having again, should I even bother with filing CA forms?

Have you been filing Form 568 and paying annual LLC $800 tax? I suggest terminating the LLC if you don't plan on using it.

Per CA 2023 Publication 1031, a nonresident should "File a California tax return if you have any income from California sources." It doesn't sound like you have any CA source income, so you don't need to file a nonresident return.
