I've been working through SCORP filings both federal and state for about 2 weeks now.
I finished Federal and the State filing for Florida keeps getting pushed back.
We don't owe any Fed taxes so our situation is different, and taxes won't be necessary at state level. however, we are required to file since its our first tax year operating.
Are the documents availability date going to continue to be pushed back or will they become available on 3/11/2022?
Unless your S corporation was formerly a C corporation, you do not need to file a corporate income tax return for Florida.
Further, TurboTax includes a Form DR-405, which is to be filed if the corporation owns any tangible personal property that is used in the corporation's business.
However, the DR-405 is filed with the county appraiser's office, not the state.
Ah ok. I was under the impression that since it was our first year I was required to file something with state.
we have no tangible assets or property. Strickly consulting.
Thanks!
forgot to mention we are a LLC classified as a S Corp for tax purposes only.
That is fine and changes nothing in terms of filing (or not needing to file).
I usually file my S-corp for Florida since it was a C-corp a few years ago. I dont owe anything/are owed anything, nor have tangible property with regards to it. I noticed that I cant efile those forms. What do I do now? It's the first time I see that turbo tax doesn't efile the state stuff.
Do I need to file anything with the state? There's no other instructions on what to do.
The forms are print only.
I'm still not quite sure if I have to send anything to the state.
