If you are seeing that next to your wages on Line 7 of your tax return, its stands for "Scholarship Income" of $45.  It means that your scholarships and grants exceeded your reported expenses, which results in taxable income.  In your case, taxable income of $45.

Thanks. Anthony. But actually, the scholarships and grants do not exceed the expenses. I put book expense in the software for few dollars.
