Our sole-proprietorship had no revenue in 2017 -- but will in 2018. Can we use a standard form this year (to avoid declaring a loss) and use schedule C again next year?

We are a married couple and file a joint return.

We have been using Schedule C for years -- but due to unexpected circumstances made no revenue on the business this year.

We have never declared a loss -- and don't wish to start now.

If you did not make any income in your business, you do not have to file a schedule C.  Yes, you can file next year.
