In order to fill a Schedule D, you will have to upgrade to Premier from within your product. 

After you upgrade it is quite simple to fill out your Schedule D information.

TurboTax Premier and Home & Business editions fill out Schedule D after you enter capital gains or losses in the interviews. Follow these steps on where to enter your information: 

  1. In the TurboTax search box (very top left), enter capital gains or capital losses
    then click the "Jump to" link in the search results.
  2. You'll either get the Did You Sell Any Investments in 2016? screen if you haven't entered any asset sales yet, or the Summary of All Accounts screen if you've already entered asset sales.
  3. From there, just follow the onscreen instructions to enter your sales.
