Looking online the latest IRS instructions for form 1041 I can find are for 2019. Will the 2020 directions be available there soon?
I find the tax on line 1a of schedule G is very wrong, according to the 2019 directions. I assume when I get the new directions it will be right.
Thanks
The 1041 program is not yet fully functional yet ... according to the chart an estimated date is 1/21 ... return to complete the return at that time : https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotaxbusiness_fed_windows_fiduciary.html
1041 instructions ... still in draft form : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/i1041--dft.pdf
Only the IRS could answer that and the IRS runs at its own slow pace. You can view the draft 1041 instructions here, but no telling when they might become final.
Thanks for the draft. But my problem still isn't solved.
The IRS directions for schedule G say: If taxable income is over 12,950: tax is $3,129 + 37% Of the amount over 12,950.
After doing the 1041's first page's step by step using TT Business software, the taxable income is 17,296. Using that formula I get a tax of 4,737.02. But the TT Business software is plugging in 2,572 as the tax.
There is no distribution to confuse things. I wonder why the Business software is putting in such a wrong number for tax amount.
