In TT Business, where can I find NOL calculation, NOL carryforward ?

I will have an net operating loss (NOL) for form 1041.

Where can I enter this loss next year in 2019 TurboTax Deluxe?
How can I get TT Business to calculate the 2018 NOL?

"In TT Business, where can I find NOL calculation, NOL carryforward ?"

You can start by clicking the Federal Taxes tab, then click Deductions, and then the Start button to the right of Net operating loss carryover.

The foregoing procedure will bring you to the next page for your review (see screenshot).

Unless this is the trust's final year, that loss (or any portion thereof) will not carry through to the beneficiary(ies).

If this is the trust's final year, then the K-1(s) will show the NOL on Line 11 with a D code; the beneficiary(ies) will enter that information into their personal income tax returns.

In the prior year, will TT calculate the amount of the NOL?  Will it automatically flow to the current year?  The IRS form for calculating NOL looks daunting.

Yes, if you're doing another 1041, then the NOL should transfer.

The rental business has a small NOL.  The overall trust return has a larger loss due to first year legal costs.  Are both losses considered an NOL?
