In first line box 15&16 has values but box 17 is empty. In second line box 15&16 are empty but box 17 has 1.35-FLI. Turbotax doesn't go ahead with this ?

Why does my W2 have two line items in boxes 15, 16, & 17 even though I worked in only one state? In first line box 15 has state as NJ and employer ID# given, box 16 has state wages, tips, etc. values,
and box 17 for state income tax is empty. In second line box 15 for state & employer ID# is empty, box 16 for state wages, tips, etc.
is also empty but box 17 state income tax has 1.35-FLI. Now box 17 in second line has value and box 15 & 16 in the same line is empty, turbotax doesn't proceed.
What should I do to resolve this issue?

This should solve your issue. Don't worry, it's your employer's fault. Just follow steps 1 and 2 below.

On your W-2, only enter the values in the boxes that have values, some combine the two lines BUT LEAVE OUT THE FLI (Ignore it for now).

Some employers put New Jersey Family Leave Insurance in the wrong box, for example 15 or 17.

  1. To ensure correct calculations, always enter New Jersey Family Leave Insurance in Box 14even if your W-2 form shows it in a different box. Simply type NJ FLI TAX as the Box 14 description, then enter the Amount.
  2. On the Let's Review Your Box 14 screen, select NJ FLI tax from the drop-down and continue.
