You may deduct any expense from this trip that is directly associated with your Business. In this case, Hotel, Travel (airfare, fuel, etc.), meals, the cost of attending the seminar.

What you can't include are expenses related to personal pleasure during the trip. For example; the seminar was in Las Vegas and you decided to go to the show, you cannot expense the cab ride to the show or the ticket price to enter.

The deductible Items are entered in Schedule C of your Tax return. This trip might include:

  • Meals and Entertainment
  • Travel expenses
  • Continuing Education

Each version of TurboTax Online has a different form of allowing you to enter these items. Below you will find a link that gives you a quick run-down on how to enter these expenses in TurboTax Online.
