I received an email with the following subject: Important Notice: Your W-2 from AMLEASE CORPORATION is on the way I never work with them. What does it mean?

is somebody using my social security number? I called turbotax, but cannot pass over the customer service rep, who told me that has limited resources to help me, she gave me (mina) a security link, but it did not work, and there is not email or phone to call and get an explanation in this time of scams and all digital, it is a shame that cannot find any help. PS: Somebody told to Mina (the customer rep) that is was a mass email, but I never got it with a very specific company name, it sounds to me as BS, and told her that it was a way her partner get rid of customers when he does not know the answers. I hate to be treated as stupid.

This sounds like spam and whoever sent you the email is trying to get you to click on something to report that you did not work for them. This does not mean they have your social security number. This ploy is referred to as a Phishing email. They are essentially fishing for someone to "take the bait" and click on their link or call them. They will then ask for personal identifying information, usually under the guise of confirming who you are, but you are unknowingly giving them information they do not have.

I would delete the email.

@frankp1060 That is more than likely a marketing email based on incorrect information.  TurboTax marketing has no way to know if your W-2 is ready for import.

Ignore the mail and delete.

Please use this link to report the email to Intuit.  There is a place under the "note" section with a link that will allow you to contact us to take further action if needed.

DoninGa

thanks!, but it does not help either

you say there the following:

What we won't do

  • We'll never send you an email with a "software update" or "software download" attachment. When we tell you about an update, we'll tell you how to update from the product yourself or tell you to enter the website name and do it yourself. Some of our products have auto-update, which is the preferred method.
  • We'll never send you an email asking you to send us your user ID or password info.
  • We'll never ask you for your banking information or credit card info in an email. We'll never ask you for private info about your employees in an email.

none of those are examples of what is going on with me.

I believe that I cannot get a real person answer because I am not paying the premium prices, is that the reason?

every time I ask to speak with an agent, first pay and them ask, the intuit way?
