For Partnerships, S Corp, C Corp, multi-member LLC, trusts and estates, you do need TurboTax Business (click here), plus an additional product for your personal 1040. One purchase of TurboTax Business will allow you to prepare two S Corp returns.

For your personal 1040 return, you'll need a different software version. Your options are:

TurboTax Online Tax Prep Programs:

  1. TurboTax Free Edition
  2. TurboTax Deluxe
  3. TurboTax Premier
  4. TurboTax Self Employed

TurboTax Desktop Programs:

  1. TurboTax Basic
  2. TurboTax Deluxe
  3. TurboTax Premier
  4. TurboTax Home & Business
Generally, if you have income to report from your S Corp, you'll require at least TurboTax Premier. Or, you'll need Self Employed if you have expenses to claim.
However, it is more simple to start in the Free Edition and upgrade if the program prompts you to.
