I don't see CA Form 568 on my return for a single-member LLC

I marked one of my businesses as a single member LLC, but TurboTax Self-Employed did not generate Form 568 for California. How do I get it to populate that form?

You said you "marked" a business as SMLLC, but be sure by Editing your TT/Calif business and there is a screen Is <name> owned by a single member LLC?. Click Yes. That activates the Form 568 and populates it with as much information from the Calif Sch C Worksheet as it can.

Hello, Any update? Did you have to amend your taxes to get the form 568 to populate?

Hi Turbo Tax Terry, Any update for 2017? No from 568 populated for me. Should I amend to find form?

The answer from a year ago is still the way to do it. Amending has nothing to do with "activating" the 568.

Where is the screen that shows "is <name> owned by a single member". I spent 45mins on the phone with TT advisor and he was enable to explain how to bring up form 568. Please help!

That's in TT/Calif - Edit your business - you have to "go" to your business in TT/Calif. The screen is down that Step-by-Step path.

Ok, Thank you Terry! So I was in the same boat as Tony. I previously filed my taxes earlier in the year but didn't see this form populate
 - or not download it during the initial run through - so I had to start to amend my taxes to dive back in. It was the last thing I had to do for this years taxes and freakingA it was a pain......So again, I started 'amending my taxes' > I clicked on my State section>Said 'No' I haven't filed the admendent yet>Continue>Click on 'State' in left column menu>Continue>Action/Edit for California>'No' I'll amend later>No for electronic payments>no for dependent children>scroll down to business to adjust profit or loss to 'revisit'>edit> and you are there to ultimately be able to print out the file!!!!

Hey Terry -  I wonder why this year's TT had such a wacky change in the first place? I used to only need to  pull out the Form 568 included in the State section and send it - a beautiful design!

This year, it's giving me goose bumps searching for the Form 568 after the e-filing was finished and all a sudden it came to my attention that the Form 568 is missing :(   Also, I have been trying to reach live support to search for form 568 even after the notes above, but to no avail after an hour.

I have already finished e-filing to Federal and State already and am having the filed tax return in front of me... What did it mean to "go" to business in TT/Calif, exactly? Should I open an empty, unfilled tax return to "go" to TT/Calif, or can I use Topic search?

Here is what I found about form 568.

 1. to enable TT to create a form 568 for you, go to (instructions for Desktop on Mac, they are similar for the online version).
  > state taxes > california  edit > income and adjustment  edit > business profit and loss adjustment  revisit > principal business  edit > yes

 2. the state of california requires to e-file, yet TT does not efile 568. Therefore you need to request a waiver at <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.ftb.ca.gov/professionals/busefile/Business_eFile_Waiver_Request.asp">https://www.ftb.ca.gov/professionals/busefile/Business_eFile_Waiver_Request.asp</a> and enter  technical limitations

 3. print and mail 568.

Hope my 6 hours of research and multiple calls help others!

@tony glandil  Thanks so much for sharing -  Your answer has been super helpful in addressing the missing links in TT. I believe you deserve a big award from Intuit!

TT premier doesn't print it for some reason. The form is kept as 2 different work pages and any attempt to print by drilling down to "forms" only prints one of the other

Can someone elaborate on the procedure: > state taxes > california  edit > income and adjustment  edit > business profit and loss adjustment  revisit > principal business  edit > yes

This does not seem to generate Form 568.

Thanks.  So, by this response, the only option is a fillable form from CA FTB and TurboTax cannot complete this form, even to some extent.

"Is <name> owned by a single member LLC?" is deceptive because it appears to be asking if the SMLLC is owned by *another* SMLLC. I'd prefer the wording to be "Is <name> a single-member LLC? There are a number of questions relating to ownership and membership of the LLC on form 568 and I thought Turbotax was asking about something else.

1. If you've already filed click ADD a State to get back into your return.
2. Select State from the menu.
3. Click the edit next to California.
4. Click the edit next to Income and Adjustments
5. Click the revisit next to Business Profit and Loss Adjustment
6. Select your Principal business
7. You should get a Is <name> owned by a single member LLC?. Click Yes. That activates the Form 568 and populates it with as much information from the Calif Sch C Worksheet as it can.

WHERE do you find the opportunity  to CORRECT THIS remarkably  difficult conundrum.?

Can you  PLEASE identify EXACTLY what screen or tab one must be looking at?

2 hours in and this is crazymaking.

@shandlos  @modix   The prior posts are very old.  When they migrated to this new forum layout all the old posts got dated in June 2019 and the screen shots were deleted.  So these could be several years old and not current.

What is your question?  Is it about California form 568?  Do you need to turn it off?

Thank you So Much!!!!, just spend 35 minutes with a TurboTax advisor who had issues by connecting remotely, was not able to provide an answer regarding 568, finally I paid again for the State $44.99 and nothing worth. Just found your solution and Vualá!

Hi SweetJean,

I have QBI under one LLC. After enter all my income, Turbotax created two Form 568s under the same name and EIN no. One F568 is for my business and another one is for my rents. Do you know why?

Many thanks,

Lisa
