I didn't have a Sale of Business Property and chose None of the Above. Turbotax is showing a sale though and it can't be removed by deleting the form. Is this a glitch?

I've tried the another recommendation to go into "Tools" to remove the form. Right now, there are two copies of Form 4797. Each time I hit "delete" it says that the form is gone yet it's still there along with a sale amount on the Income and Expenses landing page.

If you stopped using a Vehicle for your Business and started using a different one, TurboTax will show this as a 'like-kind exchange' and treat it as a Sale of Business Property.

Same thing if you reported a rental property that you converted to personal use.

Something in your return is generating the Form 4797, and you are correct that just Deleting the Form won't remove it.

Here's some help:

I'm having the same problem. My vehicle was in an accident, and the insurance company totaled it -- giving me a check that I previously reported as income. However, I've since found out that I don't have to report insurance claims for cars on my tax form. I don't see how to remove this from my taxes!!!

How did you report the insurance payment on your return? You'll need to go back to that topic and delete (trashcan icon) the entry.

If you've already e-filed your return and the IRS has accepted it, you would need to amend your return to remove the reimbursement (What Does It Mean to Amend a Return?).

I also have a sale of $3,500 showing up as "Sale of Business Property", when I selected "None of the above". I didn't change anything with my car, business location, or insurance, so I'm quite confused why it's there.

Click 'edit' on that sale of business property and go back through the steps deleting the transaction as you go.  That will remove the amount from your return.

Silly me, I forgot that I entered info about a couple assets I sold, which totaled out to that number that was showing up. That's why it wouldn't go away!
