How to get a copy of filed 1120s

We had a fire at my house and I lost the files for my 2014 1120s which was filed. (Turbotax) How can I get a duplicate copy of what was filed? I have searched but am finding no answers.....please help!

Since TurboTax Business is only available as a desktop program, all copies of your 2014 Form 1120S were on your computer, unless you saved either a .tax2014 file or a PDF of your income tax return somewhere away from your computer.  TurboTax does not have copies of income tax returns prepared in a desktop environment.

You can get a copy from the IRS, for a fee of course.

You can either file the form (4506) linked to in the response above, together with documentation that you are 1% or more shareholder, or request copies of returns for those years from a responsible officer of the corporation.

we too were trying to do this and it was all sent back rejected, as for more than 3 years back required a fee.  Does anyone know what the fee is? do i need to separate the request from the free ones and the fee?  I just need transcripts, or in fact, just proof that they were filed.  thanks!

Ok thanks @Anonymous_, I was using a 4506-T, as I just wanted a transcript of my 1120S for various years.  There is no cost listed on the request form.  The generic paperwork I received back from IRS to resubmit, checked off  various things (I also had whiteout) and then marked #13 "return transcripts and records are available for the  current year & 3 previous tax years. Account transcripts may be available for older years or a future year. Submit a form 4506-t to request account transcripts. Photocopies of tax returns may be available for older years. Submit a form 4506 with the appropriate fees to request photocopies."

So I was a little confused.  I don't want a photocopy of the 1120S, only the account transcript.  So I'm not sure why they checked this off, other than if they are saying one 4506T needs to include just this tax year and last 3 years, and use another form for older. It doesn't appear there is a cost for that but I'm not sure.  Like I said it was just a generic form so I was confused.

thanks for your help

thanks @Mike9241 I will just resubmit without the whiteout and assume they checked off the other things since they were about my request, not that there was something wrong.  The 3rd thing they checked off was "return transcripts are only available for ....1120s (and other forms)."

which is what I was asking for.

sorry, to be clear, we were trying to get the account transcript of 1120s, not copies 🙂

Form 4506-T states right on the front that transcripts are only available for the current year and 3 past years.  The only way to get a 2014 return is to use form 4506 and include the fee.

(I have no idea why transcripts are limited to 4 years.  It seems like the data should still be in the computer.  But thats what the form says.)
