To remove 1099s for joint accounts that you have with your kids from your TurboTax inputs, follow these steps:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. Use the magnifying glass icon (search bar) in the upper right corner.
  3. Type the specific 1099 form you're looking to remove (e.g., 1099-S, 1099-MISC).
  4. Select the "Jump to" link that appears in the search results.
  5. Click the delete icon (trash can)  next to the 1099 form you need to delete.
  6. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

These steps should help you locate and remove the correct 1099 forms from your inputs.

Here are some key points to consider and a supporting link:

  • Social Security Number on the Form: Generally, the person whose Social Security Number (SSN) is on the 1099 form should report the income. If your SSN is on the form, you should report it on your tax return
  • Nominee Recipient: If the income actually belongs to someone else (e.g., your child), you can report it as nominee income. This involves reporting the income on your return and then making an adjustment to allocate it to the correct person

If you mean something else reach back out.
