If you have tax exempt interest dividends included in your 1099-OID, Edward Jones would have included a document to provide the percentage for each state where there is state or municipal bond interest being earned. You would use the percentage that applies to your resident state to allocate the tax exempt amount. The remainder would be taxable to your resident state.
