You will classify this income as additional income. Since your income was only from cash or personal checks or credit card payments, then you will enter your income and expenses directly onto Schedule C. Please follow the directions below to input your income and expenses.

  • Sign in to your account.
  • Click take me to my return.
  • Click my account, at the top of the page.
  • Select tools in the drop down menu.
  • Click topic search, type in Schedule C and click go.

You are now in the input sections where you can enter any cash, personal checks or credit card payments (Form 1099-K) related to your self-employment. You may be asked some general questions about your business. After you answer them, you’ll be taken to the Your Business screen where you can enter this income as Additional Income under Business Income.
