Hello! In the final steps of filing for self employed 1099 Misc, there was mention of me being a small business owner, however I am a freelance/IC, should I be concerned?

If you have self-employment income reported in Box 7 of a 1099-MISC, the IRS considers you a self-employed "business."  Your self-employment income and expenses are reported on Schedule C of your tax return.  You can use your own name and SSN as the name and tax ID of the "business".
