Form 1065 Line G

2023 was my final return for my business using Form 1065 but I forgot to check the box "Final Return" on Line G. How do I correct this? Do I need to file an amended return for 2023? I don't have any income or expenses for 2024.

Amend the return to avoid any future inquiries from the IRS.

You and all other Partners will likely also need to amend your personal 1040.  The "final" checkbox should trigger some additional questions to calculate your gain or loss on your Partnership Interest.
