Final Review - Schedule K-1, Box 13 - Instruction

Why is TT asking about missing information in Sch K-1, Box 13, codes W to ZZ, Other Deductions, and is asking to input the same information that I provided for Box 13 with code AE?

The Schedule K-1 that was provided to me does not have in BOX 13 any code between W and ZZ.

The amount you entered for Code AE through the interview was not transferred to the additional information line for Schedule K-1. Box 13 Code AE is used for portfolio deductions. You may have received a supplemental sheet with more information on reporting these deductions.

On Schedule K-1, Box 13 Codes W through ZZ include Code AE. You can review the list of codes in this group here: IRS Instructions for Schedule K-1.

Thank you, Patricia.

So, it appears that code AE isn't outside of codes listed between W and ZZ, despite of its alphabetical designation. Very confusing, Mr. IRS. 🙂

I now have the amount specified in K-1 under code AE in the Additional Information Form for Sch. K-1, Box 13, line 8, Other (enter description) as "Portfolio Income (code AE)", as it is characterized in the IRS Instructions for Sch. K-1.

I did receive the instructions from the fund owners that list code AE for Box 13, but do not state where it belongs.

Thank you, again.
