Do I enter yes on Schedule B, Part 3, lines 7a & 8? I imported my tax documents from TD Ameritrade and they can't tell me how to complete this. There is $3,500 on line 6.

The definitions of financial interest and signature authority on the IRS website make this confusing to me. Yes, I had some foreign investments through TD Ameritrade, but I certainly didn't control any of this -- everything was at their discretion. I am not sure whether to enter yes or no on these lines

is the TD ameritrade account in a foreign country? do you have a bank account in a foreign country? do you have signature authority in any foreign financial account? if you answered no to these questions then 7a is no. read what 8 asks and you should then know how to answer.
