If you are self-employed sole proprietor, or a single member LLC, you will file your business income and expenses on Schedule C of your personal return.  Although you can report income on Schedule C in Deluxe or Premier, you will need Self-Employed (or Home & Business if using Desktop) to report income and expenses.

If your business is a partnership, a corporation, a multi-member LLC, or a single member LLC that has chosen to be taxed as an S-Corp, you will need to use TurboTax Business.

You only need the Self Employed version to report expenses in the Online version.   You can enter self employment income and expenses in any Desktop program.  All the Desktop programs  have the same forms, you just get more help in the Home & Business version.
