I have just downloaded the copy of TurboTax Business 2020 for this coming year. I have several companies that are LLC taxed as partnerships and have to file form 1065. This year has been the first time I have every done this, but we took an old LLC that was formed (again taxed as a partnership) that had done no work and changed it business name (filing an amendment of filing with the State of Texas) and more or less changing what we are doing.
I have sent a letter to the IRS to ask for a name change related to our EIN number account, back in the November and have not yet received the response back from them, but as I file our 2020 Form 1065 I will be using the new business name on the Form 1065, and I know that I can check the box #3 on line G. So my question is, do I change the business name when the Business TurboTax first opens up and it shows me the business name, address and such, or is there another location to change it, and how do I make sure that box #3 on line G is properly marked to show the business name change.

You can change the name when the program first opens (Business Info>>About Your Business) or you can change it in Forms Mode on the Partnership Information Worksheet.
In Forms Mode, you can check Box 3 (Line G) directly on your Form 1065.
