Can I deduct business use of my phone, internet, and car?

Suppose if I started a business, and I am using my personal phone and internet WiFi that I am already paying for to start working my business. Eventually, I may use my personal car for business. Would these events qualify as a write-off for any internet and phone expenses?

You can claim your phone, internet, and car expenses on your business tax return. Car expenses depend on an accountable plan being set up if the vehicle is not in the business name.

I suggest claiming the mileage on your vehicle, for a schedule C business.

In order to claim the auto expenses on a vehicle that is not in the business' name on a business such as a partnership or S corp, you should set up an accountable plan.

Keep a record of all mileage, and/or keep track of your odometer at the beginning, and the end of the tax year.
