Can I count my phone bill as a miscellaneous expense if I use it as my business line?

Yes, if you're self-employed and you use your cellphone for business, you can claim the business use of your phone as a tax deduction. 

 

You should only claim the work use percentage of your phone use. You’ll need to work out what that percentage is, and you’ll need to keep records of those costs.

 

For example if  30 percent of your time on the phone is spent on business, you could legitimately deduct 30 percent of your phone bill.
