941/940 vs Schedule H

I think I made a mistake. In 2020, I had a nanny (household employee). I filed quarterly 941s in 2020 and a 940 at the end of the year.

I just did my taxes (2020) using Turbo Tax. I ended up completed and filed with a Schedule H.

From what I am reading now, I do not think I was required to file the Schedule H (since I already filed the 941/940).  Did I just double report? Will I need to amend?

Unless you are an employer of non-household employees, you should NOT have filed 941's/940.  It should have been ONLY on Schedule H.

So yes, you need to amend, but you really should amend the 941s and 940, rather than Schedule H.

Thanks for this info! I got this advice (940/941) from a friend and after your answer and googling, I will attempt to file a 941-X now 😕
