When attempting to pay your TurboTax fees, you may receive the message:

"We are unable to continue your return at this time. We're having a little trouble processing your info. Please come back to TurboTax on our next business day. We'll finish up your taxes when you get back."

Typically, this message is the result of a billing hold. Billing holds can happen for various reasons and often take about 24 hours to release.

Here are some things you can do to verify the cause of possible billing holds:

  • Review your personal information in your tax return to make sure it's correct, including:

    • Full name

    • Date of birth

    • Social Security number

    • Address

  • Make sure all of your billing information is accurate. Double-check your:

    • Billing name

    • Billing address

    • City state

    • Zip code

    • Credit card number

  • If your personal and billing information is correct, wait the suggested business day (or up to 48 hours to try again).
