"Your refund of such amount is on it's way"

If the IRS website isn't properly working, and TT says "your refund of such amount is on it's way" what exactly do that mean for people who have no idea if their taxes has been audited, or approved because of the lack of knowledge from the IRS website?

When you go to "Where's My Refund" on the IRS Website and enter your SSN, filing status, and refund amount, you should then be informed if your return has been Received, Approved, and Refund Sent date status.  The date of credit to your bank account should be shown.  At this point, your return was looked at and approved.

There appears to be a glitch, however, with IRS.  My status on their system shows Received only, but I have already been credited with my refund in my bank account.  This has never happened before in ten years of filing with Turbo Tax.  I have contacted IRS about this but haven't heard back.  At this point, even though the IRS system only shows my return as being received, I assume it was approved.  ( Not that I'm complaining about the swift refund!)

You should be able to see an update within your TurboTax account as well as Where's My Refund. If the IRS website is not showing any updates, please try calling the WMR automated hotline instead: 1-800-829-1954

Here's an article that will provide more information.

Why is there no record of my return at Where's My Refund (WMR)?
