Would we get benefit via sales tax for money spent on expenses? I already filed yesterday so it would be an amendment.

We are in WA state

Yes, it is possible that you could receive a tax benefit from the sales tax you paid.  You could only deduct the sales tax for your wedding expenses not the expense of the wedding.   However, you would have to itemize your deductions, the standard deduction for married filing jointly is $24,400.  If your itemized deductions are less than the standard you would not itemize.
