Will the IRS clearinghouse resubmit ACH payment a second time? Funds in my bank arrived one day late .

sent funds to bank on a SUNDAY but were not deposited until Tuesday.  IRS ACH request for payment occurred on Monday, so amount due was not paid.  Will IRS clearinghouse resubmit request a second time?  Tried to call the IRS this AM, 3 hours on the phone and still cannot talk to anybody.

No, the IRS will not resubmit the ACH payment.

Per the IRS: "If a payment is returned by your financial institution (e.g., due to insufficient funds, incorrect account information, closed account, etc.) the IRS will mail a Letter 4870 to the address we have on file for you, explaining why the payment could not be processed, and providing alternate payment options."
