Just to clarify, you received a filing date from the IRS before you actually filed your return?

@mssdeegirl21

Please contact this IRS regarding these dates.

You may contact the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 please see this website article from the IRS on contact hours and information you will need to have ready when calling them: https://www.irs.gov/help/telephone-assistance.

Here are some tips when contacting the IRS:

  • First choose your language.
  • Then do not choose the first choice regarding REFUND, or it will send you to an automated phone line.
  • Instead, press 2 for personal income tax questions.
  • Then press 1 for form, tax history, or payment.
  • Then press 3 for all other questions.
  • Then press 2 for all other questions to be transferred to an agent

I was wondering if you ever figured out the cause? Mine is saying the same thing.

Are you checking on the IRS2Go app? If so, try checking the IRS Where’s My Federal Refund? site, to see if it shows the correct date. If it is still showing incorrect, you can check your e-file status on TurboTax which should show the correct date.

It says that on the turbo tax app, the status is still pending I'm worried because the date the irs received isn't the date I filed. The irs app says it has no information.

The status on the IRS website may change and state we cannot find a record of your return or  that you have put in incorrect information when tracking it, but this can all be normal in the process.

TurboTax is not connected to the IRS or state department(s) of revenue refund tracking tools. We don't receive real time updates from the IRS. The IRS releases most refunds within 21 calendar days after the e-filed return has been accepted (received), not 21 days from the e-filing date. If accepted by the IRS, you can check your refund status below:
