It is very common to have a lag of a couple of days between acceptance of a federal and state return.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
The pending status means that your state return hasn't been accepted or rejected yet. Some states start processing e-filed returns at the same time as the IRS, while some others don't. Please see the TurboTax article Why is my state e-file still pending?
You can also visit your state’s Department of Revenue to find out when your state starts processing e-filed returns. Review the TurboTax article How do I contact my state's Department of Revenue? for more information.
Do you get accepted now? Mine is still showing "pending" too, as it has been three days since I e-filed.
It isn't uncommon for it to take a few days for a state return to show as accepted, particularly in the early weeks of filing. It doesn't indicate that there is a problem with a return and is typically a result of high traffic and/or delays on the side of the state (or the IRS) that is processing the data.
If you still see this after about ten days, you may wish to reach out to TurboTax support. You can find information on reaching support HERE.
I filed mine on 1/30/2025 and as of today 2/5/2025 mine is still saying pending.. Turbotax is something else going on.. It has never taken longer than a day or two for the state to accept or reject it. The state of oklahoma started accepting returns on 1/27/25. What is going on???
Me too. Previously, it has been taken within one to two days. This time, it has been several days.
I filed with H&R Block on 2/1 and mine is still showing as pending on the state side as well while my Federal has been accepted the same day I e-filed. So, not just TurboTax.
Also, the last two years, I have E-filed both Fed and State and each time they get accepted the same time and I would get my state return back within 7 days. This year it has even been accepted yet, which is unusual.
Can you update when yours has been accepted? I am so anxious about now knowing when or if it will be accepted.

I called and spoke to the OK Tax Commission. My taxes showed “approved for a different amount”. They told me that people who got the earned income credit or child tax credit were having issues with how the form was input, and so it was having to be reviewed. She also said the website has had errors.
she told me to wait 6-8 weeks, to see if I receive a letter and if not then call them back.
Okay, so maybe mine have been approved and just isn't showing. Thanks. I had to wait 3 months last year for a letter from the IRS. I tried to avoid that this year by signing up for IP Pins and somehow something still goes wrong. 😂
Turbotax, there is a problem here. I have been using Turbotax for over 20 years and have had no issues. Yes, Oklahoma always takes a short time (usually less than 24 hours) to process the return. I filed mine on February 2 and it still shows as pending. I logged into OKTAP and they indicate my return has not yet been received. I do not meet any of the criteria others have posted about comments they have received from the OTC about delays. I think it would be more efficient for Turbotax to reach out to the OTC and/or any third party intermediaries to determine the problem rather than asking each individual taxpayer to stay on hold for hours to be brushed aside by the OTC. It's doubtful anyone answering the phones for taxpayers are going to have knowledge of the technological side of the process.
Check on OKTAP to see if the Oklahoma Tax Commission has received your return. Mine has not been received, and I filed with TurboTax on 2/2.
Count me in as one who is also worried. Mine was submitted 1/31/25 and it is still showing Pending by Oklahoma. I already have my federal return deposited into my bank account.
OKTAP shows it has not been received.
Oklahoma opened on January 29th for 2024 income tax filing.
So this shouldn't be the reason the return hasn't been accepted yet. I have seen in the past my IRS returns getting held up; typically because my tax situation required the filling out of a form that Intuit/TurboTax didn't have ready yet, or that the IRS hadn't released yet. In that case, TT allowed me to "complete" my return, but held it until the form(s) were ready, so that they could enter my information into the correct form format before filing.
That being said, I'm not aware of any pending forms for State of Oklahoma. (But I'm also a retired accountant, and I don't keep up with the tax news as close as I used to)
It would be great if Turbo Tax would let people know if their return was being held pending issuance of a specific form, but they can't even do a good job of training their support staff, I'm probably asking too much. lol
My OK return has been stuck in pending status for 6 days. Trying not to panic but I've never experienced a delay before.
My state says not received, it been a week since we field ?
We filed on 2/4/25 it still shows pending today as well. I almost always get a “ your return has been accepted” within an hour of filing. I filed my son-in-laws through H&R Block, and I received an acceptance immediately. There is clearly a problem that needs addressed.
My Oklahoma return just got accepted on day 7. What a relief.
