Your tax returns will remain Pending until the IRS starts receiving tax returns. It may be several days after the IRS start date before your tax return gets accepted or rejected.

Go to this IRS website for the official start date - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-opens-2020-filing-season-for-individual-filers-on-jan-27

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions

Same thing here filed on Jan 2, 2020 return transmitted Jan 13, 2020 and still in pending on TT and cannot find me on WMR. Filing HOH with ctc.

I did my brothers same day, transmitted same day his federal was excepted Jan 14, and WMR confirms refund date for DD on 1/29. He filed Single no EITC or CTC.

Even the past years I have had early acceptace even though the hold until Feb 15 it still would show accepted on WMR and TT in past years usually within 24 hours of transmitting.

The IRS does not process returns in first in first out batches. They are processed individually and at different times. The IRS just started processing tax returns today. It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to update. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly.

Additionally, taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. WMR on IRS.gov and the IRS2Go appwill be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC/ACTC refund filers by February 22. So EITC /ACTC filers will not see an update to their refund status for several days after Feb. 15.
