Why is my income tax still processing after being accepted on February 12?

The IRS is seriously backlogged due to all the extra stimulus filings, as well as a few million unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  In addition, the Where's My Refund site has been erratic and unreliable.  But if TT told you the IRS Accepted your filing for processing, then the government has it.  (Approved is a later step, but TT receives no further updates once Accepted.)  Calling the IRS will not help, and the IRS has implored taxpayers not to call them.  Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient.  Also see:

I understand that but the state is saying 8-10 weeks also.. there was no need to electronically file .. a waist of good needed money... The federal is at a stand still for some of us that really need that refund they not even offering a time frame mines 6 weeks still waiting.. the irs basically saying you will get it when u get it .. This is absolutely ridiculous!! Next year I will not file electronically nor when they first open... People who filed weeks after myself got everything back before me.
