Why doesn't JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A work for the Bank name section of the direct deposit form?

The bank name doesn't matter.  As long as the routing and account number are correct, you're fine. Try to get rid of any punctuation (non-alpha) characters (commas, dashes, etc).

If you used direct deposit for your return last year, the information may have automatically transferred into your return for this year.  .

To change or update the banking information that is shown on screen, follow these steps:

  • Make sure that the box stating "I want my refund deposited into this account" is unchecked

  • Scroll down and click Continue

  • The next screen will say, "Let's get your bank account info"

  • Enter the account information you want to use for your direct deposit
